Thanks for adding me to your myspace. I've been listening to your music for YEARS. I found your "space" on Margaret Becker's "space" (yes, another artist I've been blessed to listen to since her Never For Nothing tape/CD.) Your voice is so unique in the (BLAH) realm of recording artists. The music gets me up and dancing! Thanks for the blessing of your song.

Ashley,
There was another blessing on the South Side of Chicago as you graced us with your presence, music, and ministry at New Hope Church. Many, many hearts were touched in a special way as you passionately shared with stories and songs the importance of "Riding with the King." Even though your were fighting that nasty sinus infection you sang your heart out. You're the ultimate trooper. Aretha may be the Queen of Soul but you are definitely the "Queen of Gospel." Thanks again for a wonderful evening. We love you in Chicago.

I just came across you today after seeing you with John Hiatt on YouTube. Then I saw a short testimony you gave there. I'm a 40something rocker, saved by faith in Christ that also needed rest, and have found it. Thank God for you and your stance for him. Looks like he even tossed in a Grammy for you. I look forward to listening to your music. In Christ, "Catfish" Craig Counts

Ashley replies:   Hi Craig--thanks for the note. I really didn't think peace was possible for me--actually I didn't think a lot of things were possible for me. Glad you are a fellow follower of Christ--who else has the words of life?

Dear sister in the Lord,
I was blessed with my sons to attend your concert in Eugene (out in Pleasant Hill) awhile back. Your music is a blessing in this world. I love to make music to honor our Heavenly Father, and if you ever are in these parts again, I would love the chance to play a little music together. I also would be interested in any wisdom you have as a mother who is a musician. God bless you and your family with love!
July 17, 2008 -- 05:04:47 - Eugene, Oregon

Ashley replies:   Hi Danielle--I don't know if I have any wisdom for you. I have found that the business of music is distinctly incompatible with family life. Fortunately my lack of commercial success enabled me to be at home most of the time raising my children. This much I do know--there's no substitute for being there. I know that you can find a way to keep your music alive while your kids are growing (and demanding!). I have found that getting up really early before anyone else is a great time to play and write while other people like to stay up after their kids go to bed. Hang in there.
